Why per-step pricing costs so much
The abandoned-cart scenario has three steps: event, check, message. In services that meter each step, a thousand such runs multiply by two or three. Add a fourth step and the bill grows again.
So people economise on checks: they drop the “did an order appear after all” step to avoid paying for it. The automation gets cheaper and worse at the same time.
